UK /Midlands and Leicester fans of Bollywood Cinema are in for a treat



In Celebration of 80 Years of Indian Cinema


An Indian Summer” on 18th and 19th June 2011 is an annual, experiential East Midlands event. An Indian Summer is an exploration of India’s roots and culture: a celebration of old and new, tradition and technology, education and entertainment. 

Based at and using the incredible resources of Leicester’s Phoenix Square, “An Indian Summer” will use film, workshops, music, food & drink, dance, photo galleries and educational exhibitions and installations to tell India’s endlessly fascinating story. 



This year's event is especially special as it Celebrates 80 Years of Indian Cinema. Part of the hard hitting films include JODHA AKBAR, LAGAAN, WATER (Dir: Deepa Mehta), EARTH (Dir: Deepa Mehta), DEVDAS, Monsoon Wedding (Dir: Mira Nair) and the Classic SHOLAY (Dir: Ramesh Sippy)
